Imo Guber Election Will Be Free And Fair, Says Uzodimma’s Aide, Onyeneke

The Imo State government has assured its commitment to ensuring that the on-coming gubernatorial election in Imo State will be free and fair,devoid of violence and rancor.


The Special Adviser to the Governor on Imo Orientation Agency,Chief Dr. Fidel Onyeneke, gave the assurance in Owerri while addressing journalists.


Chief Onyeneke said that the government had created an enabling environment for the masses to cast their votes without hindrance or intimidation.


Chief Onyeneke emphasized that the peace of the state was paramount,while any threat to the existence of the people would be resisted by the government.


He stated that the government had put appropriate machinery in motion to enable Imo people to carry out their civic responsibility by fully participating in the November 11 election in the state.


The Special Adviser urged Imo people not to see the election as a do-or-die affair but to consider the security and unity of the people as they cast their votes.


Chief Onyeneke said that Governor Hope Uzodinma means well for the people and would leave no stone unturned towards enhancing the peace and development of the state.


Chief Onyeneke explained that the government had embarked on political advocacy and engaged the masses to ensure that they turned out en masse to cast their votes.


The Special Adviser called on the electorate to shun violence and have an open mind as they cast their votes.


He reiterated that the Governor of Imo State,Chief Hope Uzodinma, had left enviable legacies that would warrant his reelection into office.


Chief Onyeneke commended the principles of the State Charter of Equity,adding that the adoption of the Charter would further enhance peace, unity, and progress in Imo State.


He urged Imo people to appreciate the contributions of the Uzodinma administration towards the development of Imo state and its citizenry.


The Special Adviser appealed to the masses to have the interest of peace at heart and work in harmony toward the oneness of the entire state.

He also advised the Imo Electorate to avoid anything that would be inimical to the smooth conduct of the gubernatorial election,adding that the collective interest of the people is to enhance political peace and stability in Imo State.
