*Urges Imolites To Vote Wisely On Nov 11 Imo Guber Poll*

Chief Engr. Dr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo World Wide,has implored those fanning the flames of crisis in Igboland to lay down their arms and embrace peace.
Speaking at a press conference in Owerri, he underscored the importance of dialogue over violence and urged Imolites to vote wisely as the November 11th Imo governorship election draws near.
Chief Iwuanyanwu, a veteran who played a pivotal role in the Biafra/Nigeria Civil War, reflected on the cherished values of the Igbo people and expresses dismay at the current state of internal strife.
He recalled the post-war acceptance of “On Abure We Stand,” emphasizing the need for reconciliation, a step neglected by Nigeria’s leaders, contributing to the nation’s challenges.
Addressing the issue of insecurity and threats to his life, Iwuanyanwu acknowledged the quest for Biafran freedom but advocates for a peaceful resolution through roundtable discussions, negotiation, and dialogue.
He condemned the orders for Sit-At-Home issued from abroad; emphasizing that true freedom should be pursued without resorting to violence.
In the face of threats, the elder statesman, over 80 years old, asserted his stance, stating, “I am not afraid of death.At my age, if I die now, I didn’t lose anything.”
He stressed the cultural aversion to shedding the blood of their own and narrated his efforts to secure the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, reaching out even to President Tinubu for assistance.
As Imo State gears up for the November 11th gubernatorial polls, Ohaneze Ndi Igbo leader called on the people of the state to exercise their voting power wisely.
