The Orlu Zone Council of Traditional Rulers has received commendation from the Owerri Zone Awareness Coalition (OZAC) for their open endorsement of Owerri zone to produce the next governor of Imo State in 2027.
In a statement in Owerri signed by OZAC’s Publicity Secretary, Ernest Nkemedirim, the group praised the traditional rulers for their courage in standing by the truth.
“The endorsement by Orlu Council of Traditional Rulers of an Owerri zone governor in 2027 is noble, worthwhile, and deserves commendation,” the statement read.
OZAC expressed solidarity with the monarchs’ resolution, for demonstrating their commitment to the Imo Charter of Equity.
“We salute their courage for taking such a stand,” the group added.
OZAC also called on other stakeholders, especially from Okigwe zone, to emulate the Orlu traditional rulers’ stance and support Owerri zone’s bid for the governorship.
The group emphasized that Owerri zone’s ascension to the governorship of the State would bring succor and justice to the zone, which has been overlooked for too long.
“OZAC remains committed to ensuring the realization of Owerri zone’s guber bid,” the statement concluded.
