A New Imo Now Beckons On Investors, Uzodimma Tells Orlu People in US

Buoyed by the quantum infrastructural outlay by his administration in the last six years, Gov. Hope Uzodimma has declared that Imo State is now ready to welcome investors from all parts of the world.

He has, therefore, charged Imo citizens resident abroad to leverage the investment potentials of the state to attract investors to Imo.

“The Imo of yesterday is not the Imo of today. I want you to hear that plainly. We have positioned Imo for industry. With what you now know, help us bring the world’s investment home,” Uzodimma told a gathering of Imo citizens at Dallas, United States, over the weekend.

Represented by his Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Hon. Declan Emelumba, at the Orlu Regional Assembly, the governor listed roads, energy sustainability, access to air transport, security, and skilled manpower as the critical infrastructure provided by his administration to attract investment.

“The roads that defeated every administration before us are now done. The arteries that tie Imo to her neighbours are open again. Nearly every local government now has evidence of quality road construction,” he told them.

Uzodimma also named the independent power plant funded by the state government, which now provides an uninterrupted power supply to some parts of the state, as evidence of the state’s readiness to host any kind of investment.

He also announced that the state has started benefiting from the first Imo Economic Summit it hosted last year, saying that the momentum must be sustained through invitations to willing investors.

He described members of the Orlu Regional Assembly as capable ambassadors who would assist in spreading the gospel of investment opportunities in Imo State.

Uzodimma told the gathering that he has also worked hard to uplift infrastructure in Orlu Zone by attending to critical roads in the area, as well as establishing a university and a polytechnic in the zone.

He said he has also built a Government House annex in Orlu, while the Imo State Teaching Hospital, Orlu, has been revamped, equipped, and upgraded to a world-class tertiary institution.

Assuring them that he would continue to identify with the body, as he has always done since its inception, Uzodimma urged the members to continue to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his Renewed Hope Agenda.

He pledged to continue to work hard every day until the end of his tenure and solicited their support and cooperation.
