*RECEIVES CERTIFICATE OF RETURN*
International Businessman, Philanthropist and popular political operator, Citizen Akirika Okoro has secured the Democratic Leadership Alliance, DLA, ticket to contest for Owerri Federal Constituency Seat in the 2027 general elections.
His Certificate Of Return was presented to him by the National Chairman of DLA, Barrister Samuel Memeh and National Secretary, Hon Grace Obekpa, at the National Secretariat of the party, Abuja on Tuesday, the 14th of July 2026.
Speaking after receiving the party’s Certificate Of Return as its flag bearer, Citizen Akirika Okoro expressed profound appreciation and gratitude to the Democratic Leadership Alliance, DLA, for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to deliver with excellent results.
The Owerri Nchi-ise born Political Operator described his emergence as divine, which is a clear indication of what God has in stock for the people of Owerri Federal Constituency. He further noted that his emergence is the significant launch pad to address the injustice, inequity and lack of political fairness, which the people of Owerri Municipal has suffered in the last 28 years. He assured that both Owerri-west and Owerri-North, together with Owerri Municipal would experience excellent, purposeful and result oriented representation, as he is fully prepared for the battle ahead.
In his words, Citizen Akirika Okoro asserted thus, “I am not an opposition candidate, rather, I am the People’s Candidate, battle ready to rewrite the history of marginalization and unfair representation, focussing only on efficient and effective representation in Owerri Federal Constituency. I am here to offer complimentary assistance to the government in driving development at the grassroots, and I have already assembled highly knowledgeable experts on legislative matters to achieve this goal. My Blueprint is there for all to go through. My candidacy has further presented opportunities to deepen consultations with constituents in the Owerri Federal Constituency, and proffer realistic solutions to developmental challenges affecting the 33 Wards of the Federal Constituency”.
Citizen Okoro, while pledging to selflessly build the DLA to enviable height, making it the party to beat, explained that he resigned from the Labour Party when he clearly noticed its unfair and undemocratic activities.
The DLA flag bearer noted that political structure, zoning, capacity, truthfulness and honesty favours him, and assured that as campaigns would soon start, the people of Owerri Federal Constituency would be convinced to elect him.
Citizen Akirika Okoro used the opportunity to commend the Imo State Government for appreciating his efforts in the education sector by honouring him with an Award of Excellence, despite being aware that he is not a member of the ruling party.
