Plans rallies in November and December

Owerri Zone United has reaffirmed its support for Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, adopted the All Progressives Congress (APC) as its sole political platform and pledged to throw its full weight behind the Governor’s preferred successor from Owerri Zone.

The resolutions were reached at a caucus meeting of the group held on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at the residence of its Operational Leader, Prince Charles Amadi, popularly known as Charlvon.

In a statement issued by the group’s spokesperson, Hon. Kingsley Ononuju, Esq. (Ekwedashike), Owerri Zone United said its decisions followed a review of the developmental achievements of the Uzodimma administration and reflected its confidence in the Governor’s leadership and political direction.

The group commended the administration’s investments in road construction and rehabilitation, urban renewal, healthcare, education, youth empowerment and workers’ welfare. It particularly highlighted the establishment of the Imo Robotics and Oncology Centre and the Skill Up Imo programme as notable contributions to healthcare delivery and youth development.

According to the group, the achievements recorded under the administration deserve recognition and should translate into sustained political support for the Governor and his vision for Imo State.

Group Adopts APC as Sole Political Platform

A major resolution of the meeting was the adoption of the APC as the group’s exclusive political platform, following a motion moved and adopted by members.

The group resolved to support APC candidates across all levels of government, from the presidency and Senate to the House of Representatives and the Imo State House of Assembly.

It described the decision as a demonstration of political consistency, party loyalty and a commitment to honouring Governor Uzodimma through the platform under which he has pursued his vision for the state.

Backs Owerri Zone Successor for Uzodimma

On the question of succession, Owerri Zone United declared its commitment to supporting the emergence of the next governor of Imo State from Owerri Zone on the platform of the APC, with the support and endorsement of Governor Uzodimma.

The group said it would stand firmly behind whoever the Governor presents as his preferred candidate from the zone, adding that it would throw its full political weight behind the candidate and mobilise its members, supporters and structures in support of the choice.

It described the position as an expression of confidence in Uzodimma’s leadership, experience and political judgment, as well as a commitment to sustaining the developmental gains recorded under his administration.

Plans Rallies Across Owerri Zone

As part of efforts to implement its resolutions, the apex group announced plans to organise major rallies across Owerri Zone’s four federal constituencies in November, followed by the mother of all rallies in Owerri Municipal by December 2026, ahead of the election.

According to the statement, the rallies will focus on mobilising supporters, sensitising the public on the group’s political position, showcasing the achievements of the Uzodimma administration and building support for the APC and the emergence of an Owerri Zone successor.

The November rallies across Owerri Zone will consolidate mobilisation across the four federal constituencies, while the December mega rally will provide a broader platform to demonstrate the group’s unity and commitment to its political objectives.

Owerri Zone United called on its members, supporters and political stakeholders to remain united and participate actively in the planned activities.

Reaffirming its position, the group said it remained committed to Governor Uzodimma, the APC and the emergence of his preferred successor from Owerri Zone, expressing confidence that continuity and unity would advance the interests of the zone and Imo State.
