Key stakeholders and support groups of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Owerri Zone have renewed their commitment to securing victory for the party’s candidates in the 2027 general elections, particularly its Imo East senatorial candidate, Prince Alex Mbata. The stakeholders reaffirmed their resolve at a strategic meeting convened by the Prince Alex Mbata Senatorial Campaign Organisation at the PAM campaign office, as efforts to consolidate the party’s structures across the zone gather momentum.

The meeting attracted prominent political figures, including Hon. Tochukwu Okere (Toska), the incumbent member representing Owerri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, who is seeking re-election; Hon. Bede Eke, a former member representing Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency; Hon. Chris Oguoma, a former Imo APC chairman; and Hon. Chika Ibekwe, a former Ngor Okpala Local Government chairman. Also in attendance were APC local government chairmen, grassroots coordinators, LGA monitors and defenders, and prosperity coordinators across Owerri Zone.
The meeting also brought together zonal coordinators of PAM Women, PAM House-to-House coordinators, PAM Women Alliance and their respective local government coordinators, alongside former councillors and other political stakeholders. Their participation provided a platform for engagement among party leaders and campaign structures on the need to strengthen coordination and sustain support for APC candidates ahead of the elections.
Speaking at the meeting, Hon. Eke commended participants for attending despite the short notice, noting that the campaign organisation had continued to engage critical stakeholders to reinforce the party’s political structures. He expressed confidence in the APC’s electoral prospects, declaring that the party had no reason to lose the January 16, 2027 election and urging members to work towards total victory rather than settle for a limited share of the votes.
Nze Ray Emeana, who spoke on behalf of the campaign directors, called for greater synergy among stakeholders, while other speakers emphasised unity, inclusiveness and effective coordination as essential to achieving the party’s objectives. They expressed confidence that sustained cooperation among party leaders, grassroots structures and support groups would strengthen the prospects of Prince Alex Mbata and other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
Other campaign officials present included Hon. Kingsley Onwubiko, Hon. Dan Ikpeazu and Nze James Chinoyerem. Also in attendance were Hon. Ebere Chukwuemeka (ABJ), a former Owerri Municipal Council chairman; Kelechi Azike, APC chairman in Owerri North; other APC local government chairmen across the zone; former councillors; and additional political stakeholders. The meeting was coordinated by the Prince Alex Mbata Senatorial Campaign Organisation as part of its ongoing consultations aimed at consolidating support for the party’s candidates ahead of the elections.
