Imo State requires urgent liberation as the State is on the verge of collapse. This is the verdict of a frontline governorship aspirant in Imo State, Hon. Tony Nwulu.
Nwulu who stormed Owerri at the weekend expressed concern how Imo State has become a laughing stock in the eyes of the globe because of the depth of irresponsible governance that is ongoing in the State.
“Our State is a collapsed state. This is what I have to come to correct. State funds will no longer be spent on erecting statue of corrupt leaders in our dear State.
“The time has come for youths in Imo State to take their rightful place. Its time to take our destiny in our hands. Vote for your fellow youth and one who is prepared to genuinely rescue this State. I have come to fix Imo State and wipe away their tears. Mezie Imo Movement is the answer” the 39 year old initiator of Not Too Young To Run Act declared.
He further said that his first priority if elected as Governor of the State is to conduct a free, fair and transparent local government election as part of his commitment to democratize the grassroots.
He said he has come to repair the State, stressing that youths would be key components in his administration when elected vowing to curb waste and reckless spending of State funds.
Nwulu said Imo State will witness a massive turn around when elected, pointing out that already he has engaged international development partners that have expressed willingness to invest in the State.
The member of House of Representatives who just returned from Brussels, Belgium where he engaged in talks with the European Parliament said Imo State will be liberated as pensioners will get their due and workers in the State will be well remunerated.
He recalled how pensioners in the State are being issued dude cheques vowing to change the trend when he is elected the Governor of the State.
He said he has prepared 11 bills aimed at turning the State around, stressing that for good governance to thrive and endure in the State there is need for an active and vibrant legislature.
Speaking to members of Mezie Imo Movement, his political structure that will catapult him to Government House, Owerri, he said Mezie Imo as the name implies has come to restore the State for good charging them not to give up in the task of salvaging the State from further ruin.

The Lawmaker who initiated the “Not Too Young To Run” bill on the floor of the House of Representatives was at the party secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Owerri where he redeemed his pledge to the party handing over two brand new buses to the Women and Youth Wings.
In his remarks, the State Deputy Chairman of the party, Martins Ejiogu recalled the tremendous feat of Nwulu in Lagos State where despite all odds he won Isolo/Oshodi House of Reps seat.
He urged him not to relent.
