It was a replica of what takes place at Las Vegas and other prominent cities of the world where boxing is like a culture as  Kanu Nwankwo Sports Event, Aladimma Owerri last Sunday hosted an entertaining boxing tournament christened Battle of Bizness men.

The first round of 6 tournament was between fair complexioned handsome Chidera Orjiakor and bulky but youthful Stanley Nwaigbo.

The fight which lasted up to 6 rounds of its bidding with 2 minutes each, was officiated by a veteran boxing coach, Obinna Meshack while Chukwuebuka Sydney Umunnakwe, another prolific fiery punching boxer effectively handled the compere job.

The fans and spectators got more fun than they paid for as fireworks of punches oozing out from the  war gloves of both boxers with defensive tactics gave no indication that the boxers are amature.

It was at round 4 that the aggressive attacking Nwaigbo got his right arm dislocated probably from persistent punches from tactical and slow enterprising Ojiakor.

Despite the dislocation that delayed the heart breeding tournament for few minutes, Nwaigbo who was firing from the blue corner was a bundle of energy as Orjiakor who was equally spitting fire from the red corner wanted to take advantage of the dislocation, like a gun trigger raining punches left and right to subdue his punches and absorbed his hard working opponent.

After the six rounds of boxing that obviously justified them as future wonder boxers to watch, the judges announced Chidera Orjiakor winner with 175 points while his defeated opponent Stanley Nwaigbo gallantly got 138 points.

The main bout of the day, was a 3 rounds exhibition match of 3 minutes each between the athletic built Anyanwu Ikenna(Oti-okpo) and bulky built Chukwuemeka Akunakolam both who have represented Imo State in many boxing competition and won laurels and honours for the state.

Akunakolam who came to the sporting complex with his young but pretty wife and three kids was overwhelmed with confidence during his preparation.

The bout was something to remember as right from the declaration of the fight each of them exhibited skills and professionalism.Their punches were tactical  and sensational as it came from left and right upper cut.

The fans and supporters were excited. After the second round, it was obvious that Akunakolam no longer had the Spartan spirit to continue absorbing the fiery punches from Ikenna who seemed deadly on the ring as he gave up, thereby automatically making Ikenna the undisputable winner.

Next Sunday, the Co- ordinator, Mr. Meshack Obinna announced that there will be another more interesting boxing match. He described boxing game as a school of martial arts where you direct your negative energy to something positive in the overall interest of the society.
