Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has pledged the commitment of his administration to implement policies on job creation and economic growth in the State.
He said the policies will be achieved through the Special Agro Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) programme.
The Governor spoke on the backdrop Federal Government’s inclusion of Imo State in the pilot phase of the African Development Bank (AFDB) sponsored special Agro Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) programme aimed at concentrating agro processing activities in the State.
Senator Uzodimma as the focal Governor of Nigeria Special Agro Industrial Processing Zones Program, is in Cote D Ivoire, alongside other State Governors, for a summit with the President of AFDB, Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina and his team as well as representatives of the development partners and the federal government.
The key delegates at the meeting were Dr. Akinwunmi, Governor Nasir el- Rufai of Kaduna State, Governir Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Prof. Doyin Salami, the Chief Economic Adviser (CEA) to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr. Uche Orji, Managing Director the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) and Mr. Farouk Mohammed Gumel, NSIA Chairman.
