The Federal University Of Technology Owerri (FUTO) Host Communities have sent a strong warning to the Institution ( FUTO) and her collaborator , Orient City Garden Estate to desist from the criminal act of trespass on their ancestral lands.
They accused the duo of parcellating and selling the said land which is situated along Port Harcourt express road Owerri to unsuspecting buyers at #45 million at 500 per square meter,
While claiming that the land belongs to the Institution hence they can sell it at will without the consent of the owners nor their input on the said land .
The ancestral land owners who made the call last Saturday during a Press briefing in Owerri claimed that the land does not belong to either FUTO nor Orient City Garden Estate neither did they at any given time hand over the power to parcellate and sell to the general public” on their behalf ‘”these people are criminals ,they unsurpers who are trespassing on our land and we will not take it kindly with them.”they should stop forthwith to avert an impending loom that may swallow up the duo.,FUTO Host Communities have always been known for their peaceful disposition towards the instruction but they should not take it for granted and feel they can stand on our nose and balance,we are poised to match them for for fire “
The Attorney for the communities Barr ifeanyi I Aladum when contacted on the matter affirmed that there was an act of encroachment from FUTO and her cohort .
He made it known that there are pending matters concerning this same land against FUTO in various courts
Therefore ,FUTO has no locus standing to wade into the land not to talk of outright sale of the said land to the public whom he said would be the greatest losers at the end of the day .This is absurd ,this is contempt of court coming from a reputable institution like FUTO.
