Dr. Chima Matthew Amadi, popularly known as Mazi Gburugburu, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Catholic faithful in Imo State and across the globe following the historic election of Pope Leo XIV as the 267th leader of the Catholic Church.
In a statement he signed , Dr. Amadi described the Pope’s election as a moment of deep spiritual renewal and a reminder of the enduring values that anchor the Catholic faith.
“This is a moment of profound significance for Catholics worldwide—a time to recommit to the timeless principles of faith, hope, and love,” he stated.
Pope Leo XIV’s papacy, according to Dr. Amadi, embodies the virtues of justice, humility, and inclusiveness.
He called it a clarion call for leaders in public service to emulate the Pope’s example by prioritizing dialogue, uplifting the marginalized, and pursuing transformative leadership that advances the common good.
“As the Pope ascends the throne of St. Peter, his vision aligns with the aspirations I hold for Imo State—justice, reconciliation, and a focus on improving lives. His leadership reminds us that governance is measured not by rhetoric but by tangible actions that strengthen communities and bring people together,” Dr. Amadi emphasized.
