The Global Prolife Alliance (GPA) has declared that it has uncovered what it calls the Western Wall of Solomon’s Temple in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria—a discovery it insists identifies the city as the true site of Ancient Jerusalem.
In a letter addressed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the group described the finding as “of extraordinary historical and spiritual importance” and urged the federal government to intervene by preserving and advancing the recognition of the site.
Signed by Owerri municipal born Academician Prince Dr. Philip C. Njemanze, the GPA letter claimed that an ancient map dating back to before 63 BCE aligns with present-day Owerri.
According to him, archaeological, linguistic, and oral traditions further confirm that locations such as Omakpo, Nkwọeriụtara, and Okpukporokpe correspond with Jerusalem’s sacred landmarks.
“This discovery is of Outstanding Universal Value, with the potential to place Nigeria at the center of world history, religion, and peacebuilding,” Dr. Njemanze wrote in his letter to the President.
He emphasized that as a State Party to the UNESCO World Heritage Convention, Nigeria is obligated to nominate the site for UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
The GPA urged President Tinubu to take specific steps, including declaring the sites as protected National Heritage areas and mandating the Nigerian National Commission for UNESCO (NATCOM-UNESCO) to begin the nomination process.
“Your leadership will ensure that Nigeria fulfills its historic role as custodian of this sacred legacy—an honor that will unite peoples, inspire faith, and promote global peace,” the group noted.
Dr. Njemanze also appealed for the protection of local custodians, stressing the importance of supporting conservation efforts.
“Support indigenous custodians in the conservation of the sites,” he advised, while also calling for dialogue with global religious and cultural bodies.
According to the GPA, a letter containing evidence of the discovery has already been submitted to UNESCO for consideration. “Attached is the Letter to UNESCO showing the evidence,” the communication stated.
“The Western Wall of Solomon’s Temple in Owerri is not just about Nigeria; it is about world history,” Dr. Njemanze insisted, maintaining that the revelation could reshape the global understanding of biblical Jerusalem.
