Youths of Egbema Kingdom, operating under the umbrella of the Egbema Youth Association (EYA), have conferred the patronship of the association on Prince Francis Uzor.
The youths, drawn from various community leadership structures across Egbema, paid a courtesy visit to Uzor at his residence in Owerri, where the honour was formally announced.
The delegation was led by the President of EYA, Hon. Dcn. Alamezie Henry Mazuwa, alongside executive members and youth leaders representing the different communities in the kingdom.
They said the visit was aimed at recognising Uzor’s contributions to the development of Egbema Kingdom and his role in projecting a positive image of the area.
Speaking on behalf of the youths, Mazuwa described Uzor as a worthy son of the soil whose achievements and conduct have continued to bring pride to Egbema.
He said the conferment of the patronship was both an appreciation of Uzor’s service and a call for him to continue to inspire, mentor and provide leadership to the younger generation.
According to the youths, Uzor has consistently shown commitment to the progress of his people and has remained a source of encouragement to Egbema youths at home and in the diaspora.
They expressed confidence that his guidance and mentorship would further strengthen youth development in the kingdom.
In his response, Prince Uzor thanked the youths for the honour, describing it as humbling and deeply meaningful.
He reaffirmed his strong ties to Egbema and pledged continued support for youth development, unity and the overall advancement of the kingdom.
Uzor urged the youths to remain united, peaceful and focused on building a prosperous future for Egbema.
The visit ended with goodwill messages and renewed commitments to closer collaboration between youths and community leaders in pursuit of sustainable development.
