Workers in Imo State have been directed vacate for the Christmas and New Year celebrations for two weeks.
Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha gave the order.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemedo,the workers would vacate for the Christmas on Friday, December 22, 2017 and resume on Monday, January 8, 2018
The statement reads:
“The Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has, in his usual concern for the welfare of workers in the State Civil Service, has directed that the workers vacate for the Christmas on Friday, December 22, 2017 and resume on Monday, January 8, 2018.
“Workers on essential duties are exempted from this development.
“The governor has always given workers in the State workforce reasonable time every Christmas to enable them Celebrate with their loved ones.
“Already, government has paid Salary to workers in the State upto December to enable them also enjoy the Christmas” the statement stated
