The Madukaji dynasty of Umuosudiala Umuoba Obibi Uratta in Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State has announced the passing of its patriarch, Oke-Oha Canice Njokuji Madukaji, describing his death as the end of a deeply impactful family era marked by leadership, tradition, and service.
In a formal notice issued by the family, the late elder statesman was described as a devoted father, grandfather, husband, and uncle, whose life was anchored on community values and quiet influence within Umuoba Obibi Uratta and beyond.
He is also the father of Barrister Canice Madukaji, popularly known as Obulimba Igwekala and the PG of Umuoba Obibi Uratta, who, alongside other family members, is coordinating the burial arrangements in honour of their late patriarch.
According to the announcement, funeral rites will be conducted in line with the traditions of the Holy Mother Church and the personal wishes of the deceased, reflecting both his faith and cultural heritage.
The funeral mass is scheduled to hold on Friday, May 29, 2026, at CKC Catholic Church, Umuoba Uratta, by 11:00 a.m. prompt, after which the interment and reception will follow immediately at the Madukaji family compound in Umuosudiala Umuoba Uratta.
The family extended an open invitation to friends, associates, in-laws, colleagues, and well-wishers, urging them to join in paying final respects to the late patriarch whose passing has left a significant void within the community.
