Astute lawyer, Barrister Modestus Nwaele has alleged that that Imo State is unlucky since according to him ” there are no legislators in the Imo State House of Assembly, IMHA,Owerri.
“Whereby, according to him, “the legislators give the Executive the room to behave anyhow without recourse to the plight of the people and respect to the rules of law was unfortunate and disgusting”.
Nwaele who spoke while declaring his interest to contest for the forth coming House of Assembly seat election in 2019 to represent the good people of Orlu state constituency before Political Stakeholders Holders across party affliations at his country home, Amaifeke Orlu last Monday, added he believed he can give effective representation at that level having served as a Councillor and a member of the Transition Committee supervising some departments in Orlu LGA council.
Enumerating his achievements while in office, he noted that he sponsored many Bills and moved motions aimed at improving the lives of the people and challenged anyone who is in doubt to make personal investigations over his claims. He revealed he gave free water to his community to reduce their burden of trekking far to buy water from other sources and offered scholarships to deserving students at all levels then.
The Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Orlu LGA chapter, boasted that as far as he was concerned there is nobody that would challenge him for the party ‘s ticket and advised others that have indicated interest over the same position to withdraw their interest and give him support in the interest of the people and the party in particular.
“We have no legislators. I am saying it loud because virtually all aspects of governance in the State has failed due to the inability if the present lawmakers to checkmate the excesses of the Executive, stating that it was a clear indication of weakness of the legislature.
“Political situation in the state is appalling and that is the main reason I am in the race so as to assist in salvaging our dear state from anarchy and I know that I am going to win.
” All Progressive Congress, APC, is a total failure from the federal government to the States level. I will win because I have the experience as a former lawmaker at the grassroot level and my profession as a lawyer gives me added advantage”, Nwaele who is a onetime National Secretary of Amaifeke Progress Association, APA, pointed out.
In his comments, Barrister Solution Ojimmaduka informed that he came to show solidarity to his senior colleague and a brother who desires to represent his people at the Imo State House of Assembly, stating Nwaele is a good man who has the wherewithal to offer positive representation to his people and called on the members of his party to give him the necessary support.
Ugwumba Damian Ezeagu also described Barrister Nwaele as a refined politician who will not be found wanting if elected, stressing that the delegates that would elect the party’ s flag bearers should be careful while making their selection this time.
Ezeagu, a former Secretary, PDP, Imo state chapter and the highest party office holder from Amaifeke, who is fondly called Elegance by Admirers noted “Nwaele has the Knowledgeability, Acceptability and Ability which are the criteria for eligibility to contest for elections and return the party to the winning ways. I support him because he has the experience to represent the people”.
All others that spoke at the meeting including Hon. Emmanuel Ezeala from Umuowa Umuzike ward and the Assistant Secretary of the party in Orlu LGA gave good attributes of the as
pirant.
