In what appears a further confirmation that all may not be well in the All Progressive Congress, APC in Imo State despite a successful all inclusive stakeholders meeting organized by the State Working Committee, SWC, the 16 local government chairmen allegedly accused of switching their allegiance with an oath to a top party chieftain did not receive the car gifts from Governor Rochas Okorocha.
The gifts were presented to the party chairmen through Chief of Staff, Uche Nwosu as part of Okorocha’s commitment to aid the re- election campaign of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.
The Okorocha political camp which now operate with the name “Ndi Agburu Anyi” ( Those In Our Political Tribe) shared out to the Sienna vehicles to 11 party chairmen and four others who are running the party in acting capacity and considered positively disposed to the governorship ambition of the Chief of Staff, Uche Nwosu.
Pictures seen by this online newspaper revealed that not all the 27 LGA chairmen were sighted in the group photo with the Chief of Staff shortly after the car gifts were presented to them. Some concerned party stalwarts have expressed concern on this line of division barely a day an all inclusive meeting was successfully organized by the State Working Committee of the All Progressive Congress, APC held at Concorde Hotel, Owerri.
One of the party chairmen who spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed that G-16 LGA party chairmen were not given the sienna vehicles. He alleged that it is not surprising that they were denied car gifts because they had been ordered to recant their alleged loyalty to one of the governorship aspirants last week, which they refused to do.
