This newspaper was informed last night that the move is aimed at getting a  governorship aspirant to take on Uche Nwosu during the governorship primary of the APC in the State. The source hinted that the number of governorship aspirants in the party which is about seven at the moment may increase in the future and may divide the ranks of most of the governorship aspirants .

The source , a top  PC chieftain in Imo State who spoke to this newspaper on anonymity said “ We are talking. We are looking at the options. We are exploring the possibility of having a single governorship aspirant that will have the support of other aspirants and head to the Primaries and win. Stay glued together is our best option for now. A consensus candidate”

“This is the only way we can stop Rochas Okorocha from having his son in law on the APC governorship ticket. We are hoping the other aspirants will heed to this arrangement. If we put our acts together, we will have a governorship candidate the party will be proud of and win the governorship elections”

“But if we remain the way we are, remain scattered and go to the primaries with many governorship aspirants, things may backfire and in the end we all will loose ou” he said

There are seven governorship aspirants in Imo APC namely the Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, Chief Uche Nwosu, Commodore Peter Gbujie, Barr. Chima Anozie (Home Base) and others.

The Imo Restoration Group and APC stakeholders Forum had kicked against the wave of endorsements for Uche Nwosu by almost all the 27 Local Government chapters of the party in the state.
