The activities of some members of the African Democratic Congress, ADC in Imo State has been condemned by the campaign organization of the party’s governorship candidate, Chief Ejike Chukwu.
They were accused of indulging in anti party activities inimical to the interest of the party.
According to a statement by the Director General, Chief Nicholas Okwuodu, the governorship campaign organization said it has discovered to their chagrin gross misconduct and disgraceful posture of some members of the party, which it described as anti party.
It also alleged that “these party members in their individual selfish interest and gullibility for instant financial gratification, have compromised their party’s ultimate electoral interest and stopped to shamelessly low to collect money from notable gubernatorial candidates.
The DG claimed that the the core objective of the disgraceful and embarrassing actions of the disgruntled party members “is to completely act the dirty script written for them by some criminal elements who are threatened by the interest of Imolites in the candidacy of Ejike Chukwu, who is at present the most credible and politically outstanding gubernatorial candidate in Imo State
Part of the statement obtained by this newspaper reads “As ADC party, campaign organization and support groups, we are unequivocally announcing it BOLD and CLEAR that our party and it’s numerous members in all the state are not part of this ridiculous, disgraceful and unscrupulous position of these few members, whose infinitesimal number amounts to no meaningful electoral strength.
“We hereby notify our beloved Imo electorates to totally disregard and discard any statements and publications from these undesirable political elements as a farce. We want to inform the good people of Imo State to ignore them, when they come claiming to be leaders, Executives and chieftains of our Party, African Democratic Congress, ADC. They don’t have the blessings and support of our teeming party members and supporters in the state.
“Finally, we are proud to reaffirm our indivisible and unshakable commitment to work with the Governorship candidate of our Party, Ejike Chukwu for the March 9th, 2019 General election in Imo State.
