Imo State is at cross roads. No motion. No movement.

The Supreme Court should pronounce a final word on the review of it’s judgement, which sacked Emeka Ihedioha as Governor of Imo State and installed Hope Uzodinma. This is important to save our Imo State from it’s present stagnation.

It is unfortunate that a year plus after the governorship election, the State is still entrapped in the cocoon of election matters. This is retrogressive to development of the State.

It is unacceptable to millions of Imolites who are fed up with election issues and the attendant legal fireworks that has followed suit. That of Imo State is overdue. It is becoming nauseating. When other States have moved on with issues that will better the lot of their people, Imo State still regale in election/legal matters.

The State is on slow motion. It’s in a canoe. Snail like movement. One year, one block. Governor Hope Uzodinma whom the Supreme Court said is our Governor, has not really settled down for the business of governance. He has rather spent more days outside the State, ostensibly distracted by the review of Imo governorship at the Supreme Court.

How can he settle down when his stay as Governor is still subject to another round of legal cross fire at the apex Court? Which tenant will sleep with his two eyes closed when he does not know if his landlord will give him quit notice.

Uzodinma’s seat is on fire.The barber’s seat, it’s no man’s seat.

Imo State is on pause. The people look confused and jolted by the ongoing political and legal fireworks that has trailed the March 9, 2019 governorship election. They are not used to a Governor who came from the courts. They are rather in tune with those who emerge from the ballot.

The people are grappling with the strange reality that the new Sheriff in town came fourth in the governorship election. In otherwords, they are forced to understand that the last can be the first and the first can be the last. They now know that magic judgements exist in the most sacred temple of justice. And it is only in Imo State legal abracadabra are experimented with. One plus one can be fifteen. Not in math, but in Imo State.

Imo people are now in Alice in wonderland, where fiction can be reality. The State has been turned to a theater of the absurd.

The Supreme Court, which is reviewing it’s judgment that brought the State on a pause should hasten and save it from further stagnation. The State is on hold. We need to move on. And both the antagonist and protagonist should allow peace reign after the Supreme Court review. Enough of the James Bond movie. May God be with us.

“Imo State is stagnant. The people look confused and jolted by the ongoing political and legal fireworks that has trailed the March 9, 2019 governorship election. They are not used to a Governor who came from the courts. They are rather in tune with those who emerge from the ballot. It will really take time for them to assimilate this strange occurrence”.
