As the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, holds it’s State congress,to elect a new Chairman and members of the State Exco, a leading Chairmanship aspirant, Chief Chuks Ajaelu, PHF, KSC, has withdrawn from the contest.

In a press statement made available to INNONEWS, Saturday, Ajaelu said he “yeilded to the call of the moment, the sacrifice of the hour and to place at the disposal of our party, my competences and loyalty for the greater future of our dear party”

The full statement reads:

“On this auspicious first day of the month of August 2020, I salute you all here gathered.

“History indeed will be made here today. Let me recall that 5 years ago precisely 2015, I started the quest to serve as the State Chairman of our great party

“To achieve this, I left no stone un-turned in reaching out to our dear party leaders, stakeholders and delegates. I did my best to sell my vision and mission to all and sundry, and to reassure them of my loyalty, passion and commitment to our party.

“I thank the wide majority of party faithful that accepted me and are here today to vote me enmasse for I have shown capacity and competence.

“However, as an opposition party in the State and for us to effectively challenge and win in the forthcoming elections, our unity and resolve must be sacrosanct.

“Permit me therefore, to yeild to the call of the moment, the sacrifice of the hour and to place at the disposal of our great party, my competences and loyalty for the greater future of our dear party.

“Consequently, since my ambition is not greater than that of the party, I hereby withdraw my candidacy and throw my support behind Chief Engr.Charles Ugwu to be the new State Chairman of our party and I urge all my supporters and delegates to do the same.

It shall be well with us all

PDP power to the people.

I remain

Chief Chuks Ajaelu,PHF,KSC
