- The reception according to the organizers is to honour Governor Hope Uzodinma

Baring unforeseen circumstances, there are strong indications, that the planned reception for Governor Hope Uzodinma by stakeholders of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Owerri zone may take place in December.
The planned reception had however generated controversy.
Prince Charles Amadi, popularly known as Charvon, a political leader in the zone has also emerged leader of the group to plan the reception of the Governor in the zone.
The Committee which met recently under the leadership of Prince Amadi had some appointees, APC leaders and stakeholders of Owerri Zone in attendance, where they have begun plans and preparations for the reception.
Speaking to INNONEWS on the planned reception, a chieftain of the APC in Owerri North, Mr. Chukwudi Osuji said Owerri zone APC will go ahead with its planned reception for Governor Uzodinma despite the odds.
“We are together in organizing a well deserved reception for the Governor. Stakeholders and leaders of the zone, including appointees of the Governor, have met and we will continue to meet to discuss on organizing the reception.We will not be distracted by political dissidents who want to frustrate our efforts.
“We had plans to hold the reception sometime in October, but on second thought, we considered the need to have more time to enable us give a grand reception for the governor and that is why we are proposing a date in December.
Recall that Governor Uzodinma, had last week met some stakeholders from Owerri zone where he lamented how he met an empty treasury and his plans to rebuild infrastructure in the zone.
