A Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC in Imo State and notable philantropist, Prince (Dr) Alex Mbata has hailed Governor Hope Uzodimma for the giant political strides he has already recorded in Anambra State, by attracting Senator Stella Oduah of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and six members of All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA in the Anambra State House of Assemby, to the All Progressive Congress, APC.
Senator Oduah had last week defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressive Congress, APC.
Also, six members of the Anambra State House of Assemby of APGA extraction, had dumped Governor Willie Obiano and decamped to the APC, ahead of the November 6, 2021 Anambra State governorship election.
The House of Assemby members decamped to the APC after a meeting presided by Governor Uzodimma held at Imo Governors lodge, in Abuja on Tuesday.
In a statement by his media office in Owerri, Dr.Mbata said the latest political development in Anambra State which benefitted the APC, even before the governorship election, is an attestation of the political sagacity, acumen and dexterity of Governor Hope Uzodimma.
“This is a political master stroke on the part of the Governor who has shown capacity to lead the APC to victory in the governorship election in Anambra State” the statement noted.
He noted that the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Commitee, CECPC, led by Governor Mai Mala Buni, took a wise and fruitful decision by appointing Governor Uzodimma, as Chairman of the party’s governorship campaign Council in Anambra State.
According to the statement, Dr. Mbata noted that the appointment of Governor Uzodimma will translate to huge political gains for the APC in the State.
His words “The APC is already reaping huge political gains in Anambra State even before the governorship election.
“This is a clear manifestation of the political acumen of Governor Hope Uzodimma, who as Chairman of the Campaign Council of the APC in Anambra State, has already shown undiluted commitment to aid the party to win the forthcoming governorship election in the State”.
He noted that the Imo State Governor has already proved his mettle as a man of immense capabilities and an asset to the ruling party, to Igbos and the nation at large.
He recalled that this is the first time the APC is recording a major boost in Anambra State, courtesy of the pragmatic efforts of Governor Uzodimma.
Mbata noted that “this is made possible because the APC appointed a round peg in a round role, a man of exceptional quality, a detribalized Nigerian, such as Governor Uzodimma to lead the party’s quest to capture Anambra State for the ruling party.
He continued “The APC is already one inch close to Government House, Awka, because Governor Hope Uzodimma is leading the path of victory for the APC in the State”
The Owerri North born philantropist urged Igbos to hearken to the call of the Imo State Governor, who has continously stressed the need for Ndi Igbo to shun regional politics and join the mainstream for the overall benefit of the people of the region.
He said “We must encourage Governor Hope Uzodimma in his commitment to lead Igbo nation to the national grid of Nigerian politics, which will place us in a vintage position in the nation’s scheme of things”
