Political survival and relevance in the face of gradual exit from the All Progressive Congress, APC, may be on the table for the camp of former governor of Imo State and Senator representing Orlu Zone in the Senate, Senator Rochas Okorocha.

Okorocha and his allies, Uche Nwosu and Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, shunned the just concluded local government Congress of the APC held on Saturday, further leaving the entire party structure for Governor Hope Uzodimma.

They had boycotted the APC ward congress and also stayed away from the party’s membership and revalidation exercise.

With the compete loss of the party structure to Governor Uzodimma, Okorocha and co have been technically thrown out of the party, a situation which may jeopardize the re election chances of his allies on the APC platform, particularly those in the House of Representatives such as Hon Ugonna Ozuruigbo, Hon Paschal Obi and Hon Kingsley Uju.

Before now, there were reports in the media that the former governor and co may dump the APC and join the opposition, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP

Okorocha had openly “romanced” Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, fueling reports of a possible “political fraternity” with the leading opposition party in the country.

A top party officer of the PDP had told INNONEWS that the camp of the former governor and his allies had opened “contact” with the embattled ousted Chairman, Uche Secondus last month.

“I can tell you the trio of Okorocha, Araraume, Uche Nwosu met Uche Secondus in Abuja in July. What slowed the talks was Secondus latter day troubles” he said.

The party official claimed that some demands were made by the trio, including altering the party structure in Imo State.

The PDP leadership in Imo State did not react to the report, but a State officer of the party said “the PDP in Imo State is not aware of any demand from Okorocha and his men”

“Where and when were the demands made because we are not aware”the party official had told INNONEWS.
