We will share with you an even greater gift of knowledge of advanced science in this Christmas. One of the Greatest Debates in Neuroscience is on the Third Circulation: the Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) flow in the Brain. The big question was: which pump moves CSF in the brain? The Great Scientists: Cushing, Dandy and others were of the view that it was the vascular pulsation that moves the two thalami squeezing the CSF within the Third Ventricle and thereby moving the CSF flow? While Bering and others said, it was the movement of the Choroid Plexus in the lateral ventricles in the brain. Well the proof of either was lacking until 1989, when we settled that aspect of the Great Debate, using Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technology to demonstrate that there is the existence of the Thalamic Pump!
