*As Group Extols Qualities Of Ohaneze Ndigbo leader*

Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, has said the detained leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, never supported the Sit- At- Home in the South East.

Speaking when he received in audience a group, Circle of Advocates For The Advancement Of Igbo Cause, the elder statesman said the continued detention of Kanu in DSS custody by the Federal Government is one of the greatest injustices being meted to Igbos.

While expressing optimism that Kanu would be released soon, the Ohaneze Ndigbo leader condemned the incessant killings in the South East.

He noted that Igbo believes in struggling to survive and God also blessed them with wisdom.

He said commoners are suffering from the Sit- At Home directive, stressing that Kanu has continuously called for the stoppage of sit- at home in the region.

Speaking on the activities of Ohaneze Ndigbo, he assured that the South East will be the strategic zone for industrial, socio-economic activities and business hub in the country. He said that all strategies mapped for the improved economic growth and development of the zone have been adopted by the organisation.

Leader of the group comprising political leaders, members of the traditional institutions, religious organisations and Students from tertiary institutions led by a former member of Imo State House of Assembly, Hon Emeka Ukaegbu, extolled Chief Iwuanyanwu’s exploits in the defence of Igbos and his contributions in ensuring the upliftment of the needy and the society in Nigeria.

He noted that Chief Iwuanyanwu has paid his dues to merit whatever position that is given to him by Ndigbo and Nigeria.
