Ace Journalist and media strategist,Sir Sunny Ndukwu, KSM has taken chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Imo State chapter who recently defected to the ruling APC to the cleaners.
Ndukwu made the disclosure last weekend during a Local Government Ward Tour in Ngor Okpala LGA held at his country home, Nnamawa Umuowa.
Addressing party faithfuls, the media strategist noted that the Candidate of PDP has shown capacity and readiness to wrestle power from the ruling APC government in the state.
According to him, “Sen Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu is currently on a “Thank You Tour across the the state and as at Sunday, July 23rd, I can confirm to you that Anyanwu has toured 17 out of the 27 LGAs in the state interfacing with party leaders, stakeholders and supporters of the party as well as various support groups who on daily basis pledge their unalloyed support to the Governorship Candidate of PDP.
Amongst the 16 Governorship Candidates jostling for the number one seat of power in the state, Anyanwu stands tall in terms of experience and support base across divides. As a two time Council Chairman of Ikeduru LGA, two time member representing Ikeduru state constituency, Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria where he represented Imo East senatorial district at the 8th Senate and currently the National Secretary of PDP, positions Anyanwu as eminently qualified to contest the Governorship seat.
“For those who cares to know, the November 11 Governorship election in Imo is between Imolites and the ruling APC government in the state. “I wish to seize this opportunity to inform Imo electorates not to be deceived by the gale of defections witnessed currently in the state, while describing the “Imo APC Endorsment largesse as Palliatives for displaced Politicians who lacks electoral value. “The people you see today endorsing the incumbent governor, Sen Hope Uzodinma are after the money packaged by agents of the ruling government as PR for defection. Once you are willing to come public and declare your support for their party’s Governorship candidate, consider yourself multi million naira richer, he said.
“These class of politicians do not mean well for the suffering citizens who are currently going through untold hardship and maladministration of the ruling adminstration coupled with the ravaging security challenges witnessed weekly in the state.
Continuing, Ndukwu said the coast is becoming clearer by the day, adding that the candidate of PDP, Sen Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, according to survey and opinion polls is tipped to emerge victorious come November 11 Governorship election.
Also, he urged security agencies in the state to defend the nation’s democracy by resisting any form of inducement from the ruling APC government during the election.
He called on Imo youths to express their dissatisfaction as regards the poor governance and misrule of the present administration by going to their respective polling units come November 11 to register their grievance by voting out APC and its Governorship candidate.
“The best way to avenge the gruesome murder of innocent Imo indigenes by armed non state actors is to vote out the present administration who have failed to protect the lives and properties of citizens of the state, he said.
