Commendations have continued to trail the appointment of former Imo State Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr. Collins Opurozor, as Special Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodinma on Strategic Communication.
Opurozor had joined the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, alongside some State Working Committee, SWC members of the opposition PDP
Both media practitioners in the state and political actors agree that Opurozor, who made a mark as the youngest yet most consistent, brave and articulate political party spokesman in the state, will add enormous value to the 3R Administration and re-election campaign of the Governor.
In a press statement made available to the newsmen in Owerri, a group, Imo 4 Good Governance, said the selection of Opurozor for the job is a testament to his outstanding skills and expertise in the media, stating that his insight, experience and knowledge will ensure that the message of the 3R Government will reach even a wider audience. The group thanked the Governor for considering competence and credibility in making appointments.
A similar statement from Orlu Political Action Committee (OPAC) signed by its publicity secretary, Barr. Nnamdi Maduka, described the appointment of Opurozor as “a political masterstroke by Governor Uzodinma”.
“Fact is that Imo people already know what Opurozor is capable of doing. He has proven his mettle in his previous positions in politics. In the opposition parties, there has been an air of fear, and even jitters, since the announcement was made. That is understandable. They know things will never remain the same.
“We, therefore, commend the Governor for his depth of wisdom in choosing our own son and member, a very young man, as Special Adviser on Strategic Communication, and assure him of our total support in his re-election bid,” the group pledged.
