‘This Is Not the Eagles We Know’ – Analyst Slams Team After CHAN Embarrassment

A football analyst, Samuel Okoro, has taken a swipe at the Super Eagles B team following their dismal 1-0 defeat to Senegal in Zanzibar at the ongoing 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN), describing it as the worst performance by any Nigerian national team this year.

Okoro spoke to INNONEWS in Owerri, after Senegal beat Nigeria 1-0

“At a time, I had to wipe my eyes to make sure I was watching the Super Eagles. There was never a moment Nigeria strung up to 20 meaningful touches or pressed the Senegalese. It was simply embarrassing.”

“It’ll be bad to say that what we witnessed today is the tactics Coach Chelle spoke to us about. If that was the plan, then something is fundamentally wrong with our preparation.”

“This performance is by far the worst ever from any Nigerian national side I’ve seen in 2025. And if this isn’t checked immediately, it could spell doom for the CHAN Eagles and damage our reputation in local football.” he said

Okoro added that the Super Eagles B team failed to find rhythm throughout the match, which allowed the Senegalese to control possession and tempo for most of the game before conceding a decisive goal that sealed their fate.
