Super Eagles-eligible midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu has completed a season-long loan move from Burnley to Turkish champions Galatasaray for the 2026/27 campaign, with the deal including a conditional option for the club to make the transfer permanent.
The 22-year-old joins a Galatasaray side that already boasts Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, setting up the prospect of the two players featuring together in one of Europe’s top competitions this season.
Ugochukwu, who is eligible to represent both France and Nigeria at international level, has yet to make a senior international appearance. His switch to Galatasaray is expected to provide him with regular first-team football and exposure in domestic and European competitions.
The midfielder is regarded as one of the promising young talents in European football, and his performances in Turkey could further strengthen calls for him to commit his international future to the Super Eagles if approached by the Nigeria Football Federation.
Galatasaray will hope Ugochukwu’s arrival bolsters their midfield as they prepare to defend their Turkish Super Lig title and compete in Europe, while Nigerian football fans will closely monitor his progress alongside Osimhen amid growing interest in his international allegiance.
