The Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area Chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Engr. Udochukwu Gordian Eke, has described the party as the strongest and fastest-growing political party in Nigeria.

Addressing journalists on Tuesday, Eke said the party’s presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, enjoys a spontaneous and organic following across the country, arguing that Nigerians had already taken a position on who they want as their next president.

“His Excellency, Mr Peter Obi, has a spontaneous fellowship. Nigerians have already taken a position on who their next president would be, and no other candidate can boast of such organic fellowship,” Eke said.

He said the NDC would leverage Obi’s track record, character, competence and energy, adding that he is the youngest among the foremost presidential candidates.

Eke disclosed that the party would, at all levels, work to ensure that its organic support base translates into votes, stressing that the votes would be protected and the will of the people made to prevail.

He also revealed that the party had set up a reconciliation committee to reach out to aggrieved members and encourage them to bury their differences in the common interest of the party and the nation.

Eke further said he would not support President Bola Tinubu’s administration, citing what he described as its ideological failure.
