Chief of Staff, Government House and a governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Chief Uche Nwosu has fumed at the level of rumours peddled against him.
He urged his supporters not to allow themselves to be distracted by the rumours, blackmail and propaganda flying around against him.
According to a statement by Vivian Onwuka, Public Relations Officer to the Chief of Staff, Nwosu spoke during a meeting he held with co- coordinators of Ugwumba Vanguard and when he received members of Ambassadors worldwide who paid him a solidarity visit in his office.
He advised them to believe in themselves adding that they should be the drivers of their destinies, since they are the only people that could drive their destinies to the promised land.
“My own philosophy is that youths are leaders today not tomorrow. We should understand where we are going. Let us work with those that understand our vision.”Nobody understands the youths than youths,nobody can represent the interest of the youths than the youths” he said
He made it clear that the only way they could demonstrate their love for him was by obtaining their voters cards to be able to vote during the election. He promised to always remember and carry them along, the way he had been remembering and rewarding those who had worked with him. He poured encomiums on the state Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha for giving him and other youths the opportunity to serve in the present administration and prove their worth.
“Apart from Owelle Okorocha, I don’t think there is any other person that has empowered people like me. You must go back and start believing that this struggle is not all about me, it is for all of us.
“Remember no force can stop a cause which time has come. It is a collective fight. Do not be scared because we must get to that destination.
Members of Ugwumba Vanguard who intermittently chanted various solidarity songs made it clear that Nwosu who is a youth is best for the state and expressed their readiness to deliver him.
Some dignitaries at the event include House of Assembly member for Ihitte Uboma, Hon.Dr Mrs Uche Ejiogu, former PDP Publicity Secretary, Blyden Majirionwu, among others.
They advised members of the Vanguard to continue in what they called their right step and avoid any distraction whatsoever.
In another development, the director general of the Ambassadors Worldwide , Hon Remy Chukwunyere, who is the Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff on job creation said the Ambassadors worldwide is a think thank group comprising of resourceful individuals and professionals from across the globe that are in support of Ugwumba Uche Nwosu’s vision for Imo and evolves strategies and programmes to help him become the next governor of the state.
He introduced the group as a father of technocrats and strategic thinkers who are passionate in championing Nwosu’s campaign.He expressed optimism that once Ugwumba Nwosu emerges Governor,Imo youths will participate actively in the governance of the state.
Hon.Chukwunyere outlined some of the programmes they intend to embark upon to promote the youthful Chief of staff for the governorship and pleaded for the assistance of the Chief of Staff for group in the following areas; free airtime on Orient FM to enable them air one of their programmes_ ” say it loud “, branded bus to aid their mobility and office space.
The high point of the meeting was the Conferment of the award of the Grand Patron of the Ambassadors Worldwide On the youthful Chief of Staff.
