There is increased security in Owerri, Imo State capital ahead of Tuesday’s review of Imo governorship election by the Supreme Court.

The apex court had scheduled March 2 for judgement but adjourned to Tuesday March 3

Recall that the Imo State Police Command, Owerri had banned protests by APC and PDP supporters relating to the Supreme Court Judgement.

The Supreme Court had on January 14 sacked Emeka Ihedioha of the PDP as Governor and replaced him with Hope Uzodinma of the APC.

The judgement triggered protests for several days by Ihedioha supporters in the State capital Owerri. There were also counter protests by APC supporters.

Our reporter gathered that ahead of the judgement of the review application by Ihedioha scheduled for March 3, there was noticeable presence of heavily armed personnel seen at strategic locations in the State capital, Owerri.
