• This is the second ultimatum from organized labour to the state government

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Imo State chapter, has issued a fresh ultimatum, to the Imo State government.

The ultimatum, is anchored on four points, which include “non payment, staggered payment and under payment of Imo workers salaries since February 2020 to date, non payment, staggered payment and under payment of pensioners from February 2020 to date, demand for immediate conclusion of N30,000 minimum wage negotiations in the State and its immediate implementation”

The statement was endorsed by Austin Chilakpu, State Chairman, NLC, Com Nkim Tangban, State Chairman, TUC, and others.

According to them, the ultimatum begins on October 28 to November 16.

This is the second ultimatum from the organized labour in the state.

The state government had said workers yet to receive their salary are those who are yet to be captured on its payment digital platform.

Governor Hope Uzodinma had said workers and pensioners being owed in the state are not up to 10 percent, assuring that soon they will be paid.
