Political loyalists and allies of former Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha, have found political solace in several political parties.
The moves are predicated on the basis of political uncertainty which stare on their faces, as Governor Hope Uzodimma, takes full control of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Imo State.
Some of them are also die hard loyalists of Okorocha’s son in law, Uche Nwosu, who is suspected to be nursing a governorship ambition in 2024.
A source told INNONEWS that those who choose to move to other political parties did so to remain “politically alive” and if they succeed in their latest political adventure, they will regroup for Uche Nwosu’s guber ambition.
In the past months, there has been noticeable movements in the camp of the former Governor, who is eying the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
A member of the House of Representatives and Okorocha’s ally, Hon Ugonna Ozuruigbo had joined the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, where he will seek a return to the Green Chambers.
A member of the State House of Assembly, Hon Obinna Okwara, another known Okorocha loyalist has dumped the APC for the PDP.
Hon Paschal Obi, was said to have also crossed over to the PDP, but there are fresh indications that he may have remained in the APC. There was no independent verification of this claim.
Another member of the House of Representatives, and one time ally of Okorocha, Hon Chike Okafor, had since dumped Okorocha’s camp to join the political family of Senator Hope Uzodimma, known as Camp Hope.
Another Okorocha/Uche Nwosu ally and former Majority Leader, Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Lugard Osuji has since joined the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, where he is seeking a return to the State legislature.
Uche Nwosu was the 2019 governorship candidate of the Action Alliance, AA, where he placed second losing the polls to Emeka Ihedioha of the PDP.
There are strong speculations that he is interested to run for the office of the governor again in 2024.
