A former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Dr. Douglas Acholonu is dead.
Details of his death were not available as at the time of filing this report.
A family source said he died at a hospital at Mgbirichi in Ohaji/Egbema LGA.
Acholonu, who served as Deputy to Late Governor Evan Enwerem during the military regime of General Ibrahim Babangida, was said to have been ill for a long period.
Acholonu is the second deputy governor of Imo State who has passed on.
Ebere Udeagu, who was deputy to Governor Achike Udenwa, had died last year.
