Victor Osimhen’s reaction after being replaced, according to captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo, was “unnecessary,” and he says, he will discuss it with the team.

On his way to the bench during Sunday’s 0-0 draw with Bologna at the Stadio Dall’Ara, Osimhen publicly criticized Coach Rudi Garcia.

After the game, Di Lorenzo cautioned his teammate in a statement to Sky Sport Italia: “Knowing him, I know he’s aware he was wrong,” said the Partenopei captain.

“This attitude is unnecessary, and we’ll talk quietly to resolve this issue between us. He is the first to express disappointment in losing, just like the rest of us, but we’ll try again.

Similar feelings were expressed by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia a week prior during Napoli’s 2-2 draw with Genoa.

“We don’t think about what other people say. We are all united”argued Lorenzo.

“Of course, we know we are not doing well in the League, We are all focused on what we need to improve together, the team and the Coach. I am sure we will put in a great performance in the next game.

The defending champions sit seventh in the Seria A table with eight points in five games.
