Chippa United’s and Super Eagles star goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, is on the verge of bidding farewell to the club, according to confirmation from the team’s CEO, Siviwe Mpengesi.

Nwabali’s remarkable performances for Nigeria during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire have caught the eye of numerous clubs both domestically and internationally.

Mpengesi disclosed that several foreign clubs have shown keen interest in securing Nwabali’s talents, recognizing the goalkeeper’s desire for greater opportunities, especially after his standout display at the Afcon, where he earned recognition as the tournament’s second-best goalkeeper.

Speaking with iDiski Times, Mpengesi underscored the club’s readiness to facilitate Nwabali’s departure should a suitable offer materialize.

“We are in discussions with several clubs overseas. We also acknowledge that he deserves better, particularly after his outstanding performance at the Afcon,” Mpengesi affirmed.

“Should an opportunity arise, especially from abroad, or even locally if the offer is for him and not for us, if the offer is better for him, then we will not stand in his way.”he said.
