A Nigerian Facebook user, Robert Edu has called on Super Eagles and Napoli star, Victor Osimhen, to exercise greater caution about his dietary choices, warning against eating meals outside of his team’s supervision.
The user, whose post has gone viral, highlighted the global impact and pride Osimhen brings to Nigeria, urging him to prioritize his health and professional integrity.
“Victor Osimhen, you need to be more cautious about where and what you eat. You’re not just a footballer, you’re a brand, a powerhouse with global impact, bringing pride and respect to Nigeria,” the user wrote.
Drawing a comparison to international football icon Cristiano Ronaldo, the user stressed the importance of professional discipline.
“I’ve never seen someone like Cristiano Ronaldo casually eating in people’s houses back in Portugal. As someone of your stature, you should treat your body like your business, because it is,” they added.
The post also warned about the risks of consuming meals not approved by Osimhen’s team nutritionists, especially in a country with weak regulatory systems.
“Please stop eating outside your team’s approved meals. It’s entirely possible to visit people without accepting food. You can’t take unnecessary risks,” the user cautioned.
Citing recent doping allegations involving French footballer Paul Pogba, the Facebook user implored Osimhen to avoid similar pitfalls.
“I don’t want to hear anything about a positive test result for banned substances. Look at what happened to Pogba; let that be a cautionary tale,” they wrote.
The fan advised Osimhen to rely solely on his team’s professional nutrition services for his dietary needs.
“Your meals should be managed strictly by your professional nutrition team. If you need black soup, they should cook it, at every time and any place you’re visiting,” the post read.
“Honestly, are you joking, washing hand everywhere to eat? Sha be careful, because we love you.” She wrote.
