Delta State received ₦101.04 billion from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) in July 2026, while the five states in the South-East jointly received ₦143.7 billion, according to the latest allocation figures.
The five South-East states — Imo, Anambra, Abia, Enugu and Ebonyi — received ₦28.82 billion, ₦25.72 billion, ₦24.55 billion, ₦22.15 billion and ₦20.36 billion respectively. Imo recorded the highest allocation in the region, while Ebonyi received the least.
The combined allocation of ₦143.7 billion to the South-East means the five states, taken together, received only about ₦42.7 billion more than Delta State alone during the month. Delta’s ₦101.04 billion also placed it at the top of the national allocation table.
Rivers State followed Delta with ₦87.81 billion, while Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa received ₦79.81 billion and ₦79.21 billion respectively. Lagos State, which ranked fifth nationally, received ₦63.92 billion.
Among the South-East states, Imo ranked highest nationally at eighth position with ₦28.82 billion. Anambra occupied 17th position with ₦25.72 billion, followed by Abia at 20th with ₦24.55 billion, Enugu at 27th with ₦22.15 billion and Ebonyi at 34th with ₦20.36 billion.
The July figures highlight the wide disparity in allocations to states across the country, with oil-producing states and states benefiting from other components of the federation revenue sharing recording substantially higher receipts than several other states.
The allocations also provide a basis for assessing the resources available to each state government in relation to its responsibilities and the needs of its citizens, particularly in areas such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, security and other public services.
