Super Eagles Striker, Arokodare Joins Ajax In €22m Move

by innonews

Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare is set to join Dutch giants Ajax from Wolverhampton Wanderers after the two clubs reached an agreement over an initial loan deal, according to transfer reports.

The agreement includes a €22 million option to buy the forward permanently, although the clause is reportedly non-mandatory. Ajax will also pay a loan fee and cover the player’s full salary during his temporary stay in Amsterdam.

Arokodare reportedly turned down proposals from clubs in Turkey and Italy to complete the move to Ajax, choosing the Dutch giants as his next destination as he looks to continue his development at one of Europe’s most historic clubs.

The transfer is expected to give the Nigerian striker a fresh opportunity to establish himself at the highest level, with Ajax betting on his qualities while retaining the flexibility to decide at the end of the loan whether to trigger the €22 million purchase option.
