A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Imo State, Mr. Okey Ezeh, has pointed out the importance of internal party democracy to the electoral fortunes of every political party. He said transparency in the nomination of candidates is key to ensuring intra-party cohesion and in emerging successful at the polls.
Speaking in Owerri on Monday, the management consultant assured that he will lend support to every process that will ensure that the culture of free, fair and credible primaries is made pervasive in APGA.
He stated that the relationship between him and co-aspirants in the party is cordial and brotherly which reflects the motto of the party, and advised those who mistake such for some endorsement of him by the other aspirants to realize that it is only a transparent primary election that can determine who flies the gubernatorial flag of the party. He added that far from being a cause of worry to the party, the many aspirants are indeed a boost which gives the the party the necessary robustness to wrest power from the incumbent government.
Mr. Ezeh also commended the Imo State Chairman of the party, Barr. Peter Ezeobi, for his immense wisdom in steering the affairs of the party.
