South East governors are meeting in Enugu, in response to the worsening insecurity in the zone.

Aside the Governors, political, religious, traditional and other leaders from the region are also part of the closed door meeting.

The meeting may have been convened in response to Saturday’s attack on the residence of Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma at Omuma, Oru East Local Government Area.

On the same day in Imo State, the Commander of IPOB’S Eastern Security Network, ESN, Ikonso was killed by security operatives.

The meeting is holding at Government House, Enugu.

Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma is represented by the Deputy Governor, Placid Njoku.

Already in attendance are the Chairman of the Forum and Ebonyi State Governor, Chief David Umahi, host Governor, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.

Others are the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Amb. George Obiozor, the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe, Archbishop of Enugu Eccleciastical Province, Anglican Communion, Most Rev. Emmanuel Chukwuma, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Southeast, other religions and traditional leaders, among others.
