Chelsea have raked in close to £80million following their impressive march to the FIFA Club World Cup final.
The Blues sealed a 2-0 victory over Fluminense in Wednesday’s semi-final, with Joao Pedro—signed last week from Brighton for £60m—netting both goals to send the Premier League giants through.
They now prepare to face either Paris Saint-Germain or Real Madrid in Sunday’s blockbuster final as they aim for their second major trophy this season, having already lifted the UEFA Conference League.
Football transfer guru Fabrizio Romano confirmed the huge financial boost on X, writing: “Chelsea have now earned fee close to £80m thanks to their FIFA Club World Cup performances, qualifying for the final. Excellent job by Enzo Maresca with UCL return, Conference League trophy and also perfect Club World Cup so far.”
Enzo Maresca’s side are also on course to secure a Champions League return, capping off what could be a sensational debut season for the Italian manager at Stamford Bridge.
