The Owerri Zone United Easter Summit: Strengthening The Bonds, Focusing On The Goal. (1)

On the 6th April, 2026, Owerri Zone United held their Easter summit at the Ezeogba Emekuku country home of the Chairman of the organization, Capt. Emma Ihenacho. Recall, an earlier summit was held at the Owerri residence of the Co-Chairman and the operational leader of the organization, Prince Charles Amadi (Charlvon). The two summits are the same in theme, structure, sound and focus.

Owerri Zone United is a child of necessity bore out of the compelling needs to close the gap of conflicting and confusing voices in the affairs of the zone. It was inspired by the philosophy to bring all sons and daughters of the zone together irrespective of political, social or cultural backgrounds. Of greater significance is to prove doubters that believed that the zone can never come together under one umbrella and speak with one voice wrong. Together, the Owerri zone people had come together and in one voice they speak. This singular move has strengthened the bonds of rapport and brightened the focus on the zone’s governorship project.

What the two summits have said in clear and unambiguous terms is that, Owerri zone is one, driven by the same desire to work assiduously to produce the next governor of the state of Owerri zone extraction in line with the Imo state charter of equity. The atmosphere was charged with excitement. Everyone in the zone is happy. From the traditional rulers, clergy, Presidents-General of autonomous communities, women and youth leaders, the political leaders in the various parties, the message is the same, “we are here for a common purpose.”

It gladdens the heart to see and hear such outpouring of goodwill and enthusiasm in a people who have demonstrated that their collective resolve to selflessly work together to achieve what has become the collective desire- the position of the governor of the state.

“The strength of the community,” a school of thought says, “is the unity of its people.” Therefore, the main valve and plugs to power the engine of the movement are sincerity of purpose and personal sacrifice.
